Description

Integration of sensing in a mobile communication system would open up for completely new
applications, provided sufficient sensing performance can be achieved at only minor degradation
of the communication capacity. Ericsson has laid the foundation by the outdoor cellular test.

The approach is to set up use-cases in the test network, rigorously test and evaluate new
algorithms, measure performance and improve. In addition, state-of-the-art artificial intelligence
(AI) and machine learning (ML) based algorithms will be evaluated against the industry state-of-
the-art algorithms for object recognition and tracking.
